Thank you for volunteering to become a coach for the 2025 season. Coaches are an integral part to success of the Saanich Lacrosse Association's (Association) program.
The Association seeks strong role models that combine box lacrosse knowledge, leadership and teambuilding. To that end, the Association will consider a combination of minor sport coaching experience, credentials as well as communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. It also considers past contributions to the Association as well as interactions with Board members, team staff (inside and outside of the Association) and representatives from lacrosse governing bodies.
The Association forms a Coach Selection Committee (Committee) each season to review applications. The Committee consists of the President, the Head Coach and a subset of Board members. The Committee recommends coaches to the Executive for endorsement. Board members that wish to coach one or more teams are ineligible to part of the Committee. Further, Committee members recuse themselves from decisions related to divisions in which their child, or children, play.
Please fill out the questionnaire below. The Committee will use this information in its decision-making process. The Committee may request supplemental information and/or hold brief interviews with Head Coach applicants should two or more people express interest in the same position.
