Skills and Drills Start in December!
Hello Saanich Lacrosse community.
The Association requested additional Provincial Gaming Grant funding to support additional player, coach and goalie development. The Board is pleased to launch the first of these initiatives: Skills and Drills for all age groups.
The sessions will start December 1, 2024 and run through the end of March 2025 (subject to interest). The purpose of the sessions is to get sticks back in players' hands to help them prepare for the season. They will also serve as the Association's "Ice Breakers" where we introduce new players to the sport. The Board intends the sessions to be fast-paced, engaging and fun for participants.
There sessions are free. Saanich players registered from the 2024 season will still be covered by BC Lacrosse Association insurance. New players will be required to fill out a waiver to participate.
Players will need to bring full gear to the sessions. Players: helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, jock/jill and stick. Goalies: full gear set. Coaches may opt for "helmets and gloves" at some sessions, but players should have gear accessible.
We will start with three sessions. The Association will provide information on sessions in the New Year at a future date.
