Evaluations

2026 SEASON

The Association will hold assessments to select "A" teams in the U17, U15, U13 divisions for the 2026 season. The Association intends to hold a minimum of two, and preferably three, evaluation sessions for each division subject to floor availability. "A" candidate players will be selected to move on to coach led evaluations to finalize team rosters.   

The U11 division will also have evaluations to select balanced teams per current Vancouver Island Minor Lacrosse Commission (Commission) rules. There is a possibility the Commission decides to re-introduce tiering in the U11 division in the 2026 season. If so, U11 evaluations will also be used to select an "A" team. The Association will advise families of any changes prior to the evaluation sessions should changes occur.   

Players must attend at least one evaluation session to be considered for an "A" team. The Association strongly encourages players to attend all sessions to put their best foot forward in the process. This also provides as much information as possible for evaluators to make decisions. 

Players are not required to participate in evaluations if they do not wish to play on an "A" team. These players will be placed on the appropriate "B" team. Evaluations for a "B" team participation may occur in rare circumstances when there is a) sufficient registration and b) sufficient coaches to form three teams in one age division. The Association advise families and provide additional information in advance of evaluation sessions should this be the case.

EVALUATION SESSION SCHEDULE

The Association has the following floor times at Eagle Ridge Community Centre. 

The Association recognizes that January is a busy time with other activities. However, the schedule is dictated by floor time availability.

The Association is currently exploring supplemental time at the Centennial Park Covered Box to complete evaluations for the U15 and U17 age groups.

IMPORTANT: This is the Association's best estimate based on available information and is subject to change. The intent is to enable families to plan ahead. The Association will provide updates at regular intervals leading up to the evaluation sessions should there be changes.
